Availability of GCE Products
GCE products are designed for the entertainment of adults in Canada. Casino and slot facilities in the jurisdictions we operate are restricted to those persons 19 years of age and over.
Gift Cards
By purchasing and/or using a gift card (“Card”) issued by GCE, you agree to be bound by these TOU, the terms and conditions on the back of the Card, and all applicable laws, rules and regulations (collectively, “Gift Card Rules”):
General
You must be of age of majority in the province to purchase or use the Card.
Unless expressly stated in the Gift Card Rules, Cards and the total available balance available on the Card (“Available Funds”) do not expire or accrue fees.
Purchasing Cards
Cards may be purchased in person at GCE Sites using cash, debit, or credit, or as otherwise provided by GCE from time to time.
A Card is:
- available in a minimum purchase amount of $25 and a maximum purchase amount of $500 in British Columbia and Nova Scotia and $1,000 in Ontario and New Brunswick;
- only redeemable for a Qualified Purchase;
- not replaceable if lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed and risk of loss and title for a Card passes to the purchaser upon sale; and
- non-reloadable, non-refundable, non-transferable and has no cash value, except as required by law.
To the extent permitted by law, the purchase of a Card from GCE using Visa or Mastercard will incur a system fee comprising a small percentage of the total purchase amount. This is not a surcharge or convenience fee and is identified separately on each guest receipt. Guests wishing to avoid payment of such system fee for the purchase of the Card may use a separate payment method, including cash or debit. No system fee is chargeable for the use of a Card as payment towards a Qualified Purchase.
Use of Cards
A physical or digital Card must be presented as payment towards a Qualified Purchase in accordance with the Gift Card Rules.
Upon presentation, the purchase amount will be deducted from the Available Funds. You may continue to use the Card until the Available Funds are zero. If the purchase amount exceeds the Available Funds, the difference must be paid with cash or other acceptable payment method; some processors of transactions may not be able to perform a split-tender transaction and the Card will not be accepted. If a Card is used to purchase an item that is subsequently returned, the purchase price for the returned item will be credited to a new Card issued in the amount of the Available Funds used to purchase the returned item.
The Available Funds can be viewed at an available GCE point of sale.
GCE expressly retains the right to refuse to redeem a Card, cancel a Card, or request an alternative form of payment if, it determines, in its sole and absolute discretion, suspicious activity connected with the Card.
As of December 1, 2024, Cards will no longer be accepted at Casino Nanaimo or Elements Casino Victoria.
Great Canadian Entertainment expressly retains the right to refuse to redeem a Card, cancel a Card, or request an alternative form of payment if, it determines, in its sole and absolute discretion, suspicious activity connected with the Card.
