SURREY, BC (October 24, 2025) – Elements Casino Surrey proudly celebrated its 20th Anniversary with a special celebration attended by team members, community partners and industry stakeholders marking two decades of entertainment, community partnership, and economic contributions to the City of Surrey. Since opening its doors in November 2005, more than $40 million has been invested in capital improvements to enhance guest experiences and modernize its amenities. Additionally, the facility has generated more than $68 million in gaming revenue for the City through the British Columbia Lottery Corporation. These funds have supported a wide range of local initiatives, including the development of the Cloverdale Recreation Centre.
Last year alone, the City of Surrey received more than $2.8 million from its share of provincial gaming revenue for hosting Elements Casino Surrey. Funds have been directed to capital projects including $2.5 million toward Bear Creek Stadium Phase 2, allowing the upgrade of the athletics track and enhanced facilities for long jump, javelin, and shot put, as well as the construction of Strawberry Hill Hall, a heritage-inspired childcare facility offering 25 licensed spaces for children aged three to five, along with a natural play area in the adjacent park.
Beyond its economic contributions, Elements Casino Surrey has remained deeply connected to the community through volunteer service and donations to local organizations, including the Surrey Food Bank, Surrey Firefighters Charitable Society, Surrey Hospital Foundation, and Cloverdale Community Kitchen, among others. To mark the 20th Anniversary, the Cloverdale Community Kitchen was awarded a cheque during the event for $4,500 to be applied to their important programs. Team members have hosted and participated in a variety of fundraising and community initiatives such as clothing drives, toy collections, and seasonal events. Collectively, employees dedicated hundreds of hours to supporting causes like the Surrey Food Bank and the Starfish Pack program, and the casino continues to champion its signature charitable partner, Cloverdale Community Kitchen.
With 178 employees, 128 of whom live in Surrey, Elements Casino Surrey is also a significant local employer. Many team members have grown with the business: more than 35% have been with the operation for over 15 years, and 17% have proudly worked at the site for over 20 years.
“For two decades, Elements Casino Surrey has been more than just a place of entertainment, it has been a proud partner in Surrey’s growth,” said Rodrigo Perez, Assistant General Manager, Elements Casino Surrey. “From funding local infrastructure projects to supporting grassroots charities and offering local employment, our success has always been tied to the community we serve.”
As Elements Casino Surrey looks ahead to the future, its commitment remains steadfast: to create memorable guest experiences, to support the local community, and to continue building on its legacy as a cornerstone of Surrey’s entertainment and economic landscape.
