Richmond, B.C. (October 6, 2025) – River Rock Casino Resort today announced the commencement of dredging at its on-site marina, a significant step toward fully reactivating the 130-slip facility.
Over the years, natural sediment deposited by the Fraser River has gradually filled in portions of the marina basin, restricting access and limiting operational depths for vessels. The dredging project will restore safe navigation and moorage, with the marina set to reopen in the spring.
Following significant consultation and receipt of approvals from various regulatory agencies, the dredging project is being carried out responsibly and sustainably. As part of the project, River Rock will also construct a 700-square-metre salt marsh, creating valuable fish habitat and enhancing the ecological health of the Fraser River shore.
The marina project is one component of a multi-faceted capital improvement program at River Rock Casino Resort that began last year and is reimagining the guest experience across the property. Along with the recent introduction of Gordon Ramsay Steak, the resort will also welcome another exciting new culinary offering this fall, MIKU, Vancouver’s acclaimed aburi-style Japanese restaurant.
Gaming enhancements include an expanded Jade Room featuring new slot machines, the addition of a new Privé Lounge complete with a dedicated bar on the gaming floor, and an expansion of the Maple Leaf Room, including new private gaming rooms.
To better accommodate larger gatherings, the resort’s conference and event facilities have been expanded, while updated floor layouts improve accessibility and navigation, with elevated aesthetics throughout. Guests will also enjoy the renovated buffet, which now offers à la carte dining paired with panoramic views of the mountains and marina. In addition, the resort’s theatre has been upgraded with state-of-the-art technology to enhance the audience experience for live performances as well as the programming of additional shows through the property’s partnership with Live Nation.
