MESHUGGAH, one of the most innovative and revered metal bands of the past 30 years, have consistently redefined the boundaries of heavy music. With eight studio albums, they’ve evolved from the groundbreaking chaos of Destroy Erase Improve to the more dynamic and melodic sound of their 2022 release, Immutable. This album, recorded in multiple locations and marked by a more dynamic and slower pace, demonstrates their continued evolution while maintaining their trademark intensity and technical brilliance. Immutable is their most complex and diverse work yet, featuring a greater focus on melody and atmosphere, as well as some of their most jaw-dropping ensemble performances, especially from drummer Tomas Haake.
After a six-year hiatus, MESHUGGAH approached the album with a new sense of freedom and creative energy, recording in a relaxed, inspiring environment. The result is a record that pushes their sound into new territories while remaining unmistakably their own. Immutable is a testament to their unchanging commitment to innovation, and as Mårten Hagström puts it, the band’s identity remains “immutable”—firm and unyielding in their creative vision.

Carcass is the cornerstone of deathgrind and goregrind, and a key pioneer of melodic death metal and death ‘n’ roll. Their early ’90s shift to these styles helped redefine extreme metal, making them one of the genre’s most influential bands.
