Canadian icon Shawn Desman kicked off an unprecedented comeback story this summer after being handpicked by Drake to perform at the OVO All Canadian North Stars showcase. Now, he makes his official return with the announcement of his new single “Maniac,” dropping October 21 via Wax Records.

Shawn Desman comes from a groundbreaking era of Canadian music that paved the way for the next generation of artists we see today. With a deep history of success, Shawn Desman exploded onto the scene, making waves across the country with his signature sound and style. Making his mark on an entire generation of Canadians, Desman achieved incredible accolades including a Platinum selling album, 5 Platinum selling singles, multiple chart-topping radio hits, and a plethora of awards including a JUNO Award for R&B Sound Recording of the Year, 3 MMVAs, and multiple SOCAN Awards for his songwriting.

His 2013 album Alive was released in a way no other artist had before. Partnering with MUCH, the album dropped in conjunction with a short-film, starring Desman, Kaitlyn Leeb (Heartland), Melinda Shankar (Degrassi), and K.C. Collins (Lost Girl).

The film “ALIVE” provided audiences with a brand new way to experience music and visual content, and went on to win “Outstanding Short Film” at the ReelWorld Film Awards, in addition to nominations at the Canadian Screen Awards, JUNOs, and the MMVAs. This wasn’t the first time Desman was able to combine his passions of music and dance on the big screen, having previously starred in Paramount/MTV’s “How She Move,” and appeared in the hit movie “Honey,” opposite Jessica Alba.

Currently one half of the duo RadioClub with his long time friend and country music star Tebey Desman shows no signs of slowing down. Their debut single was an EDM remake of the 1987 international pop smash Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley which has over 25M+ streams to date and peaked within the Top 40 at Canadian Pop Radio. One of their follow up single’s “River” was Stingray Music’s #1 Most Played Dance Clubbin’ song.

RadioClub’s single “Hey Now (Iko Iko) is a Spanglish banger that features Toronto’s Alx Velix “Dancin Kizomba” and newcomer Altur Santos. Another recent collab w/ Swedish EDM duo Dunder on the single “Her Lips Are Saying (La La La)” is also charting in Europe.

But Desman hasn’t left his solo career behind. As one of Canada’s biggest success stories, this chart-topping, multi-platinum selling, award winning artist has created some of the most recognized songs of the past two decades.
